Top-down method for the foundation works of the 4 Frankfurt project

Trevi Spa used the top-down method - as chosen by the designer - to carry out the foundation works for the F4 project, considering that the span between the perimeter walls requires contrasting elements with a length of over 100 m.

230 prefabricated columns were inserted on top of foundation piles in order to support both the structural loads of the structures above ground and the slabs during the excavation phases.

Since the prefabricated columns are permanent structural elements, their installation requires extreme precision, with a vertical tolerance of ± 2 cm and a 5 cm maximum horizontal deviation at the bottom of the excavation (at 20 m depth).
