The "San Giovanni" underground station in Rome

The new C metro line entails the construction/rehabilitation of 24 stations and 21.5 km of metro line, 13 of which carried out underground; the new metro line will allow to improve the public transportation system of a congested city such as Rome.

The new “San Giovanni” metro station will be constructed adjacent to line A existing station. The new metro line “C”, deeper than the existing one, will underpass the existing station, while the trains continue to run.

The project for the new station entails the excavation of two new tunnels by means of grouting and artificial ground freezing soil improvements.

Peculiar drilling operations under water table, directional drilling technology, special freezing sequences and methods and integrated monitoring systems will be used to grant the highest quality and safety standards.
