An innovative system for positioning prefabricated columns inside some foundation piles

As part of the Frankfurt 4 project, Trevi Spa has adopted an innovative system for positioning prefabricated columns inside some foundation piles. For their installation, reinforcement cages are installed once the drilling of the piles is completed,

Subsequently, a collar positioned around the casing will serve as a guide and support for the installation of the prefabricated columns. To comply with the strict tolerance requirements (± 2 cm vertically and 5 cm horizontally at 20 m depth), the collar must be positioned with extreme precision.

After adjusting its position, the concrete is cast, using the contractor’s method, and the prefabricated column, guided by the collar, is then installed, inserting it for 3 m into the fresh concrete of the pile.
