Herbert Hoover Dike cuttoff walls construction

The task orders US Army Corps of Engineers awarded to Trevi Icos for the Herbert Hoover Dike rehabilitation, were related to the construction of one of the main components of this project, a cutoff wall within the levee to eliminate the existing seepage through the levee foundation and limestone layers below.

Thus acting as the Main Contractor, TreviIcos, thanks to its expertise and technology, was able to work as a specialist, developing a bespoke solution.

For the first time, in fact, the cutoff wall was constructed by the self-hardening slurry method, which included excavation through the embankment fill and soil with mechanical and hydraulic clamshells and in the limestone rock and sand with a Hydromill cutter to a depth up to 80 ft from the top of the dike.
